Writer's block?

Not long after I had No More Lonely Days published in August of 2007, I decided that I wanted to tackle writing my first thriller.
I've been reading many of them, more so than any other genre, save for the occasional love story by Nicholas Sparks (my favorite author). It only seemed natural that I would attempt and successfully carry this out.
In addition to promoting this novel, No More Lonely Days, not only through local newspapers and my website and others' sites, I have sat down at this very computer and tried working on my follow-up.
I must say, it has not been as easy as I thought it could be.
For one, originality is a factor. I am trying to be original and let the novel be unique in its own way. I know most books are original, but I wanted to have a breakthrough.
As of this day, I still have not written a decent page of this new book. It's probably easy to blame it on writer's block, but I won't. My reasoning for my alleged failure is simple: I'm putting too much pressure on myself. At least I have been.
Today, once I get some rest, I will be able to start work on this new novel. I have found the idea that has eluded me for the past four months. We'll see how this works. :-)
Of note: No More Lonely Days is still on sale at all the major book selling websites. For more information about it, my website is http://authorchristopher.tripod.com.
